Fundamental
Skills Course (10-15 hours)
Here is your chance to begin at the beginning. You will learn to use a mouse, a keyboard and basic computer skills. Having your own computer is not required, but it sure is useful.
Introduction to Vista Computers (20 hours)
This course will help you understand what a personal computer can do. You will learn the basics of operating the computer and be introduced to Microsoft Word for word processing. Microsoft Works will introduce you to spreadsheets and databases. An introduction to the Internet is also provided in this course. Open to students who are familiar with the mouse and keyboard.
Introduction to XP Computers (20 hours)

Microsoft Word (20 hours)
Understand and develop skills with the Microsoft Word program. Prepare correspondence, documents, mailing list and other text documents. Open to students who are familiar with and have regular access to keyboards, mouse and Microsoft Windows computers.
Email
and Internet Exploration (15 hours) Learn the basics of accessing and using the Internet. Understand how to bookmark Web sites, and to print Web pages and search results. Develop the skills to use email, including attachments and forwarding. Open only to students who have Windows and word processing skills and who have access to an on-line computer.
Windows Management for Vista Classes (15 hours)
Learn to become much more proficient in using your new Vista based computer. Understand the desktop, all the menus, options and folders. Make using your computer much more fun because now you will begin to understand what is happening and how to manage it. Open to students who have taken the Introduction Class for Vista.
Windows Management for XP Classes (15 hours)
Learn to become much more proficient in using your XP based computer. Understand the desktop, all the menus, options and folders. Make using your computer much more fun because now you will begin to understand what is happening and how to manage it. Open to students who have taken the Introduction Class for XP.
Spreadsheet and Data Base Tools
(12 hours)
Using Microsoft Works software, learn
to organize information to manage budgets and financial calculations,
mailing lists, records of hobby collections, etcs.
Quicken (15 hours)
Manage finances using this popular
personal program to track expenses and investments, do online
banking, prepare for taxes.
Digital
Photo Imaging (20 hours)
Use Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 to edit your pictures. This eight-session course, based on Adobe Photo Elements, is for those interested in using computers to improve and modify photographs. Owners of digital cameras and conventional photographers can enjoy the benefits of the Digital Photo Editing course.

Program
Costs
Each class costs $35 with the exception of Fundamentals Skills
which costs $25. The amount will be billed when a student
is enrolled in a specific class and must be paid promptly
to insure participation. There is no longer a membership requirement
for SeniorNet Greensboro students.
Application
Form
Registration for classes is offered to those individuals
who are on the class wait list. You may copy the form
or print it and then mail it to the address given. Or,
you may mail a post card or letter to the same address providing

Tutoring
Tutoring homebound seniors is an outreach project by Greensboro
SeniorNet volunteers. We can loan equipment and teach
qualified beginners the basics of computer usage in their
homes for up to three months. If you know someone who
might benefit from this service, have them call Jean Eason
